Colefax and Fowler

Tilney Stripe Red/Green

Denbury FabricF4864-01

Tilney Stripe Red/Green shows a crisp vertical stripe with a small-scale, textured red motif set against soft sage-green ground bands. The effect is tailored and quietly traditional, with enough colour contrast to read clearly without feeling heavy.

About this fabric

This Colefax and Fowler fabric is woven in a cotton-rich mix of 54% Cotton, 18% Acrylic, 16% Viscose, 6% Linen, 3% Polyamide and 3% Polyester, giving the stripe a lightly nubby handle and a refined surface interest. The repeat is V 8cm / H 14cm approx, and the 142cm approx width makes it practical for larger upholstery pieces as well as curtains. In this colourway the red reads as a softened brick tone rather than a bright scarlet, while the green is a dusty sage that keeps the overall look calm and heritage-led. The narrow vertical layout gives the fabric a neat, orderly rhythm, and the Q 8 + T 3 care code with √BM fire rating makes it straightforward to specify.

How to use it

Use it where you want a structured, old-world stripe that still feels light, such as armchairs, dining chairs or tailored curtains. The muted red and sage pairing works especially well with oak, warm whites and printed florals.

A fresh stripe that pairs the soft green with a faded red for easy heritage styling.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
