Dante Red
Dante Velvet VelvetF4797-12
Dante Red is a rich, low-lit velvet with a deep oxblood character and a subtle surface sheen that softens as the pile turns. The colour reads dark and saturated rather than bright, giving it a quietly dramatic presence.

About this fabric
This Dante Velvet colourway is a plain velvet with no visible repeat, so the interest comes from its dense pile and the way the light moves across the surface. In Dante Red, the shade sits in a deep red family with a wine-like undertone, appearing almost burgundy in shadow and slightly warmer where the pile catches the light. The fabric is 100% cotton and approximately 140cm wide, making it a classic upholstery velvet for seating, cushions and formal decorative pieces. It has no performance features noted, and the √CM fire code should be checked against project requirements before ordering. The overall effect is luxurious but restrained, with a finish that feels richer than a standard red.
How to use it
Pair this deep red velvet with walnut, brass and dark painted wood for a moody scheme, or use it as a single accent on an occasional chair to add depth. Its saturated tone works especially well with cream or soft neutral walls where the pile can show its colour shift.
Use for tailored upholstery or statement cushions where the rich pile can catch the light.

Pairs well with
Dante Red is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
