About this fabric

This colourway reads as an inky midnight blue, with cool dark undertones that absorb light rather than reflect it. The velvet pile gives the surface a subtly shifting sheen, so the fabric looks denser and more shadowed in the darker areas of the swatch. It is woven in 100% cotton and supplied at approximately 140cm wide, with no repeat in either direction, making it straightforward to pattern match. The composition and velvet handle give it the substance expected of a strong upholstery fabric, while the restrained colour keeps the look sharp and formal.

How to use it

Use Dante Midnight on a sofa or headboard where the depth of colour can anchor a room, especially alongside pale walls, warm wood, or brass. Its near-black blue tone also works well with crisp linen, ivory trim, or other jewel shades for a more dramatic scheme.
