Defined Momentum Velvets VelvetHAF0638-03

Karst Garnet is a richly saturated burgundy velvet with fine vertical striations running through its surface. Its dark red tone shifts subtly as the pile catches the light, giving the swatch a deep, directional sheen.

About this fabric

This Harlequin Defined Momentum Velvet has a substantial 732 gsm weight, making it especially well suited to upholstery. The visible surface is a dense field of narrow vertical ribs, with closely spaced tonal lines that add texture without creating a bold graphic motif. Its deep garnet red reads warm, dramatic and slightly wine-toned, while the velvet pile introduces restrained highlights across the darker ground. The fabric has a 140 cm usable width, a 1.5 cm vertical pattern repeat and a 1 cm horizontal repeat.

How to use it

Use Karst Garnet on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat where its wine-red depth can anchor a room. Pair the softly lustrous velvet with warm timber, aged brass or muted neutral upholstery for contrast.

Use this deep garnet velvet to bring saturated colour and a softly reflective, tailored finish to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Karst Garnet without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
