Nouveau Velvet Mulberry

What's New Velvet

Nouveau Velvet in Mulberry brings a busy, painterly stripe effect with a warm pink-red base and flashes of cream, mauve and orange. The vertical movement gives the velvet a vibrant, almost brush-marked look.

About this fabric

This velvet has a richly textured surface that catches the light across fine vertical striations, creating depth within the mulberry, rose and plum tones. The palette is warmed by hints of coral and soft orange, while paler streaks of ivory and blush break up the colour for a more layered finish. With a width of 140cm and a 37cm vertical repeat, it is well suited to bold upholstery applications where the pile can show off the tonal variation. The composition of 71% polyester, 23% cotton and 6% viscose gives it the familiar plush feel associated with velvet, while the NQT1 care code should be followed for cleaning.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an accent chair, banquette or cushion to add colour without losing a tailored look. It pairs well with warm neutrals, smoked woods and brass accents, where the mulberry tones feel especially rich.

A lively, layered stripe for contemporary seating or statement cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
