About this fabric

This Cosima Velvet II colourway is a plain velvet with no visible repeat, making the focus entirely on its rich antique red tone and plush surface. Woven in 56% viscose and 44% cotton, it has the dense, tactile look expected of a classic upholstery velvet, with a subtle sheen that lifts the darker burgundy ground. The colour reads warm and shadowed, sitting between oxblood and garnet rather than bright red. At approximately 140cm wide, it is a practical furnishing cloth for statement chairs, sofas, cushions, or lined drapery where a more luxurious finish is wanted. The overall effect is elegant and formal, with enough visual depth to add drama without appearing glossy.

How to use it

Use it on a curved armchair or banquet seating to bring a jewel-like hit of colour into darker timber or brass-led interiors. It also works beautifully as heavy curtains where the antique red tone can look especially deep in low evening light.
