About this fabric

This colourway from the Cosima Velvet II collection has a dense, softly lustrous surface that gives the plain velvet a quietly luxurious finish. The 140cm approximate width and 56% viscose, 44% cotton composition make it a substantial textile suited to upholstery, with the velvet pile creating subtle shifts between inky black and blue-green tones across the surface. With a repeat of V 0cm / H 0cm approx, it is a plain cloth rather than a patterned design, so the focus stays on the depth of the pile and the way light skims the nap. The overall effect is dark, cool and elegant, with a depth that feels more graphite-blue than bright navy.

How to use it

Use Cosima Midnight on a sofa, occasional chair or ottoman where its near-black blue tone can anchor the room without flattening it. It works especially well with pale stone, smoked oak and warm brass for contrast.
