Cosima Beige

Cosima Velvet II VelvetF4625-09

Cosima Beige reads as a soft, stone-toned beige with a gentle velvet nap that catches the light unevenly. The surface has a quiet, lived-in depth rather than a flat, uniform finish.

About this fabric

Cosima Beige from the Cosima Velvet II collection by Colefax and Fowler is a plain velvet with no repeat, making the emphasis fall entirely on its colour and pile. The cloth is 56% viscose and 44% cotton, with an approximate width of 140cm, and it has a supple, substantial handle suited to upholstery. In this colourway, the beige sits on the warm side, with a muted greige undertone and subtle variations across the pile that give the surface a softly marbled look. The overall effect is restrained and smart rather than creamy or golden, which helps it feel tailored on larger pieces.

How to use it

Use this tone on sofas, benches or ottomans where you want texture without strong colour. It pairs neatly with oak, dark timber and chalky neutrals, and the soft sheen keeps it from feeling heavy.

A calm, neutral velvet that works well on tailored seating and pared-back interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
