Orion Natural

Zander Velvets VelvetJ0298-04

Orion Natural shows a small-scale geometric velvet pattern in a warm stone-beige palette, softened by cream and faint olive-grey notes. The pile gives the surface a gently lustrous, tactile finish rather than a flat matte look.

About this fabric

Orion Natural from the Zander Velvets collection by Jane Churchill is a velvet with a structured geometric repeat that reads as calm and tailored rather than bold. The supplied specification gives a repeat of approximately V 20cm / H 24cm and a width of approximately 144cm, making it suitable for generous upholstery applications. Its composition of 48% viscose, 30% cotton and 22% polyester helps explain the soft hand and the way the light catches across the patterned surface. The colourway is a restrained beige ground with creamy lattice lines and muted greenish-grey accents, so it feels warm, earthy and quietly dimensional. The √BM fire code is noted, and care code Q 8 < T 3 is supplied for reference.

How to use it

Use this colourway on a tailored armchair, banquette or occasional sofa where its small geometric repeat can be appreciated up close. It pairs naturally with pale oak, chalky paint colours and deeper olive or bronze accessories for a layered neutral scheme.

A refined neutral that layers easily with oak, linen and deeper olive accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Orion Natural without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
