Orion Red
Zander Velvets VelvetJ0298-02
Orion Red pairs a deep ruby ground with a small geometric velvet pattern, giving the swatch a rich, textural look. The woven design reads crisp and structured, with lighter blush outlines lifting the darker red base.

About this fabric
This velvet from Jane Churchill’s Zander Velvets collection has a bold yet refined feel, with the pattern sitting close together across the surface. The visible pile catches the light unevenly, so the red reads as layered ruby, oxblood and softened berry rather than a flat single shade. Its 48% viscose, 30% cotton and 22% polyester composition supports the plush handle you can see, while the 144cm approximate width makes it practical for upholstery projects. The repeat is approximately V 20cm / H 24cm, so the geometric rhythm remains strong across larger pieces. The fire code is √BM, and care code Q 8 < T 3 is supplied for reference.
How to use it
Use Orion Red on an occasional chair, sofa cushions or a banquette where the deep red can sit against walnut, brass or ink-blue finishes. Its small-scale pattern keeps the look tailored, even in a room with dark timber and warm neutral walls.
A jewel-toned statement velvet that works beautifully on tailored seating or a dramatic accent chair.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Orion Red without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
