Zander Charcoal

Zander Velvets VelvetJ0296-01

Zander Charcoal is a bold monochrome velvet with a tightly worked abstract pattern that reads almost like a graphic animal stripe from a distance. The charcoal ground gives the design a deep, tailored look, while the lighter threads lift it with sharp contrast.

About this fabric

This Jane Churchill velvet is composed of 55% polyester, 39% viscose and 6% recycled cotton, with an approximate width of 140cm and a vertical repeat of 43cm by 35cm. The pile catches the light softly, so the charcoal ground shifts between near-black and a slightly silvery depth as the fabric moves. Against that dark base, the ivory markings create a crisp, irregular linear motif that feels energetic rather than ornate. It is a confident textile for upholstery, with enough visual presence to anchor a room without adding colour.

How to use it

Pair this charcoal-and-ivory colourway with pale oak, black metal and plain linen to keep the look sharp. It works especially well on accent chairs, ottomans or piped cushions where the pattern can be seen clearly.

Use on tailored seating or a statement cushion for a sharp monochrome look.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
