Montana Pine reads as an almost-black charcoal with a soft, quiet surface and a subtly matte finish. The weave gives the colour a gentle depth rather than a flat solid block.

About this fabric

Montana Pine is a plain-woven fabric from Larsen’s Arizona collection, composed of 48% viscose, 45% cotton and 7% linen. At approximately 138cm wide, it offers a generous usable width for both furniture and window projects. The surface in this colourway appears deep charcoal black, with very slight tonal variation in the weave that softens the darkness and keeps it from looking harsh. Its fine, grounded texture gives the fabric a restrained, tailored character that feels more refined than stark, while the repeat is listed as vertical 0cm / horizontal 0cm, confirming a non-directional plain.

How to use it

This near-black colourway works well when you want depth without a glossy finish, especially against pale timber, plaster, or warm neutrals. It is a strong choice for sharp upholstery schemes, and equally effective as a dramatic curtain fabric where the dark tone frames a room.

Use for tailored upholstery or sleek curtains where you want a very dark, understated finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
