Kuba Charcoal

Kuba FabricL9457-04

Kuba Charcoal is a dark geometric fabric with a tightly patterned surface and a matte, shadowy finish. The small repeated motif sits into the ground rather than sitting brightly on top of it, giving the colourway a low-contrast, tailored feel.

About this fabric

Woven in 60% viscose and 40% cotton, Kuba Charcoal has a balanced handle that suits statement upholstery and other decorative interior uses. The design repeats at approximately V 33cm and H 35cm, creating a regular lattice of small angled marks across the cloth. In this colourway the background reads as near-black charcoal, while the motif is picked out in a muted warm bronze-brown that catches the light softly rather than shining. At approximately 138cm wide, it offers useful coverage for chairs, cushions or panels where the graphic pattern can be seen clearly.

How to use it

Use Kuba Charcoal on an armchair, ottoman or dining seat to introduce pattern without losing a grounded, almost architectural look. It pairs especially well with walnut woods, aged brass and other deep, earthy finishes.

A dark, textured ground that works well on tailored seating and accent pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
