Kara Ebony

Kara FabricL9278-04

Kara Ebony sets the botanical motif against a deep ebony ground, letting the leaf forms and woven textures read sharply in the foreground. The palette feels warm and graphic, with softened gold, tan and olive notes lifting from the dark background.

About this fabric

This colourway pairs a dramatic ebony black ground with layered leaf motifs in muted gold, tan, olive and soft terracotta tones, so the pattern feels bold without looking glossy. The woven surface has a tactile, fabric-led finish that suits the collection’s 135cm approx width and the repeat of V 47cm / H 45cm approx. Its blend of 45% viscose, 21% polyester, 17% linen, 11% wool and 6% cotton gives the design a substantial handle with a refined, slightly textured look. With a smart, decorative presence and a BM fire code, it is well suited to statement upholstery or tailored drapery where the dark ground can anchor a scheme.

How to use it

Use Kara Ebony on a chair, banquette or ottoman if you want the leaf pattern to stand out against pale plaster, oak or walnut. It also works well as drapery in a room with brass or bronze details, where the warm accents in the weave can catch the light.

Use it to add dramatic contrast with warm metallic-toned furnishings and natural woods.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
