Belmont Plain Black is a deep charcoal shade with a softly mottled, almost graphite-like surface. The close image shows fine vertical linen grain rather than a printed motif, giving the black ground quiet tonal movement.

About this fabric

Listed as wallpaper, this colourway has a near-black charcoal tone that reads softer and less stark than a flat jet black. Fine vertical fibres and slight tonal variation are visible across the surface, while the plain design keeps the effect restrained. It is made from 100% linen, with an approximate repeat of 0cm vertically and 2cm horizontally. The low-contrast texture gives the dark ground depth without introducing a separate pattern.

How to use it

Use Belmont Plain Black to create a dramatic but measured backdrop in a study, dining room or intimate bedroom. Its charcoal tone pairs especially well with warm timber, aged metal and softly coloured upholstery, which prevent the wall from feeling overly severe.

A deep charcoal-black ground with understated linen texture for a quiet, architectural wall finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
