Highland Ebony

Idaho FabricL9402-07

Highland Ebony reads as a compact, textured weave with a dark ebony ground softened by warm taupe highlights. The small-scale structure gives the cloth a disciplined, tailored look.

About this fabric

This fabric from Larsen’s Idaho collection is composed of 46% cotton, 40% wool, 7% acrylic, 6% polyester and 1% polyamide, with an approximate width of 143cm. The cloth shows a tight, pebbled weave where black threads sit against lighter taupe-grey yarns, creating a mottled ebony surface rather than a flat black. Its small repeat, around V 1cm / H 1cm, reinforces the fine, rhythmic texture visible in the swatch. With its substantial woven handle and smart dark tonality, it is well suited to upholstery where a neat, grounded finish is desired.

How to use it

Use Highland Ebony on an armchair, banquette or dining seat where the near-black base will anchor the room without feeling severe. It pairs especially well with walnut timber, pale plaster walls and brushed metal details.

A dark, tightly woven surface that adds quiet depth to tailored seating and compact cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
