Mineral Black Earth

Mineral FabricHAF0577-29

Mineral Black Earth is a near-black charcoal textile whose fine crosshatch keeps the surface from reading as completely flat. The swatch shows a quiet, tightly woven texture with subtle shifts where the light catches the threads.

About this fabric

Mineral Black Earth is a dense, near-black woven cloth with a restrained charcoal cast rather than a flat, inky surface. The close-up shows fine horizontal and vertical threads crossing into a quiet, even grid, with slight tonal variation across the dark ground. At 394 gsm and 143 cm usable width, it has the visual substance suited to upholstery. Its 17 threads per cm help explain the compact surface visible in the swatch. Both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0 cm, so the design interest comes entirely from the weave and deep Mineral Black Earth tone.

How to use it

Use this deep charcoal-black colourway on an armchair, sofa or dining seat where its subtle texture can add depth without introducing a visible motif. Balance the dark ground with chalky walls, pale stone, warm timber or softly aged metal.

Pair this deep charcoal-black weave with pale stone, oak or warm metal for contrast.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
