Nalani Black Earth/Chalk combines a deep black-earth ground with fine chalk lines arranged in tightly repeated angular diamonds. The close-set geometry gives the surface a graphic, almost optical quality while the woven texture keeps the contrast tactile rather than stark.

About this fabric

This outdoor fabric has a 388gsm weight and a usable width of 142cm, giving it the substantial presence expected of an upholstery textile. Its black-earth tone reads as deep charcoal-black in the swatch, with chalk detailing that catches the light across the raised woven pattern. Small linked diamond motifs repeat every 3.5cm vertically and 4cm horizontally, creating a dense, consistent surface rather than a widely spaced design. At 21 threads per centimetre, the weave appears finely constructed and visually compact.

How to use it

Use this dark, cool monochrome colourway on outdoor seat cushions, dining chairs or a statement occasional chair where the chalk geometry can sharpen a pale scheme. Pair it with weathered timber, black metal and quiet stone tones to let the pattern provide the room’s definition without introducing colour.
