About this fabric

This Harlequin velvet weighs 495gsm and has a usable width of 143cm, giving the cloth a substantial presence for upholstery. Across the deep green ground, tightly spaced waved lines and tiny glinting marks create a restrained, almost mineral-like pattern rather than a bold graphic. The design has a 32.5cm vertical repeat and 36cm horizontal repeat, while the dense construction is recorded at 75.5 threads per centimetre. In changing light, the pile reveals muted green highlights against its shadowed malachite base.

How to use it

Pair Chert Malachite with warm timber, aged brass and chalky neutrals to balance its cool, saturated depth. It is especially effective on a tailored sofa, occasional chair or upholstered headboard where the tonal texture can read at close range.
