About this fabric

The velvet’s warm sandstone ground is threaded with fine, undulating lines that shift between taupe, brown and lighter sandy highlights as the surface catches the light. Rather than a sharp geometric motif, the 32.5cm vertical by 36cm horizontal repeat creates a gentle, irregular rhythm across the cloth. At 495gsm and 75.5 threads per cm, it has a substantial specification well suited to upholstered furniture. The usable width is 143cm, with a standard length of 30m.

How to use it

Use Chert Sandstone on a generously shaped sofa, headboard or occasional chair where its warm taupe-brown tone can soften darker timber and add quiet texture to a neutral scheme. Pair it with chalky creams, ochre accents or weathered wood to bring out the swatch’s sandy depth.

Use this warm, softly variegated velvet to bring tactile depth to upholstered seating and panels.
