Malvern Charcoal

Plains & Semi Plains Fabric

Malvern Charcoal is a deep, quietly variegated plain with a cool blue-grey cast and a subtle woven texture. The surface reads matte and understated, with just enough depth to stop the colour from looking flat.

About this fabric

This colourway shows a dark charcoal ground lifted by fine blue-grey and muted slate threads, giving the cloth a softly striated, horizontal texture. It is catalogued as a Fabric with a 140cm width, 0cm pattern repeat, and an 80% Polyester 20% Cotton composition. The finish feels firm and practical rather than fluid, making it well suited to tailored seating and other hard-working interior uses. The tone is cooler than a warm graphite, which helps it sit neatly with pale oak, concrete, and crisp white schemes.

How to use it

Use Malvern Charcoal on a sofa, dining chair, or ottoman where the blue-grey depth can anchor lighter upholstery and timber. It also works well as a grounding neutral in a scheme with brushed metal, pale stone, or inky accent colours.

A versatile dark neutral for tailoring clean, modern upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
