Malvern Aubergine

Plains & Semi Plains Fabric

Malvern Aubergine is a dark, understated plain with a quietly textured surface and a moody plum-purple cast. The colour reads deep and refined, with subtle striations that stop it feeling flat.

About this fabric

This plain fabric is woven in 80% polyester and 20% cotton, with a 140cm width and no pattern repeat, making it straightforward to cut and use. The surface shows fine horizontal texturing and a softly mottled finish, so the aubergine shade appears layered rather than uniform. In the photo, the colour sits firmly in the dark purple family with a cool, shadowed depth and a faint berry warmth in the highlights. With no performance features noted, it is best considered for decorative interiors where its rich tone can do the visual work. The overall effect is smart and restrained, ideal when you want colour without a strong motif.

How to use it

Use Malvern Aubergine to bring a grounded, evening-toned accent to dining chairs, headboards or occasional stools. It also works well with smoked oak, brass and warm neutrals, where the deep plum shade can read luxurious rather than heavy.

A rich dark purple that adds depth and polish to tailored seating or statement cushions.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
