Malvern Noir

Plains & Semi Plains Fabric

Malvern Noir is a deep charcoal-black plain with a subtle woven striation that gives the surface quiet movement. The finish reads dark and refined rather than flat, with a slightly dry textile texture visible in the swatch.

About this fabric

This colourway sits firmly in the black family, but the tone is softened by faint charcoal banding and a lightly textured weave. Made from 80% Polyester 20% Cotton, it offers a practical blended handle with enough body for upholstery yet a clean enough look for curtains and blinds. The 140cm width and 0cm pattern repeat make it straightforward to work with on large and small projects alike. Its overall effect is smart and restrained, with the weave detail becoming more noticeable as the light skims across the surface.

How to use it

Use Malvern Noir to anchor a scheme with pale walls, warm wood and brushed metal, where its smoky black tone adds depth without looking glossy. It is especially effective on modern seating, tailored drapery or simple Roman blinds where the texture can be appreciated up close.

A sleek dark plain that works well across clean-lined upholstery and tailored curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
