Bowfell Ebony

Whitworth Fabric FabricCCF0731-03

Bowfell Ebony presents a near-black charcoal ground crossed by slender, closely spaced pale grey stripes. Its finely textured surface gives the dark colour a softly dimensional appearance rather than a flat, solid black finish.

About this fabric

This substantial 425 gsm fabric has a deep ebony-charcoal tone, with narrow light grey lines creating a disciplined vertical rhythm across the cloth. The close spacing makes the stripe feel restrained and tailored, while the woven surface catches the light with subtle tonal variation. With a usable width of 138 cm and a standard length of 35 m, it is well suited to considered upholstery schemes. The pattern has no vertical repeat and a 4.6 cm horizontal repeat.

How to use it

Use Bowfell Ebony on a neat armchair, dining seat or structured sofa where its cool, almost-black ground can anchor a room. Balance the fine pale stripes with warm oak, ivory textiles or softly coloured walls to keep the scheme from feeling stark.

Use this deep charcoal stripe on tailored upholstery, pairing it with pale timber, brushed metal or warm neutral accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
