About this fabric

The close-set vertical lines create a restrained stripe effect, with the ebony ground shifting gently between charcoal and near-black as the light moves across it. At 425 gsm, this is a visually substantial woven fabric with enough density to suit upholstered furniture. Its 138 cm usable width supports practical upholstery cutting, while the 0 cm vertical repeat and 0.4 cm horizontal repeat keep the fine rib continuous and easy to align. The cool, dark colour gives the cloth a smart, architectural character rather than a soft or decorative one.

How to use it

Use Ashdown Ebony on a tailored armchair, dining chair or contemporary sofa where its cool charcoal tone can sharpen warmer timber and soften the contrast of black metal. Pair it with pale stone, concrete grey or muted tobacco accents to make the fine rib visible without lightening its deep mood.
