About this fabric

The dense ribbed surface gives this 425gsm fabric a substantial, tactile character suited to upholstery. Its fine vertical stripe is almost continuous across the cloth, with a listed 0.4cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat. At 138cm usable width and a standard length of 35m, it offers practical coverage for seating projects. The warm beige colouring is softened by the narrow shadow lines between the ribs, giving the surface quiet tonal variation as the light moves across it.

How to use it

Use Ashdown Antique on a tailored armchair, dining chair or sofa where its warm beige tone can soften darker timber and add discreet vertical texture. Pair it with oatmeal, natural linen and aged wood for a calm, quietly traditional scheme.

Use this warm beige ribbed stripe to bring subtle vertical texture and a tailored finish to upholstered seating.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Ashdown Antique without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
