Bowfell Mulberry

Whitworth Fabric FabricCCF0731-06

Bowfell Mulberry is a richly toned woven stripe with a deep wine-red ground and slim pale lines running vertically across the cloth. Its softly textured surface gives the colour depth, while the stripe remains crisp and tailored.

About this fabric

This 425gsm fabric has a substantial woven handle suited to upholstery, with a 138cm usable width and a standard length of 35 metres. Fine pale taupe and muted cream stripes punctuate the mulberry ground at close intervals, creating a restrained vertical rhythm rather than a bold statement pattern. The horizontal pattern repeat is 4.6cm and the vertical repeat is 0cm, so the stripe reads continuously from top to bottom. In changing light, the textured weave softens the red into a nuanced berry-brown tone.

How to use it

Use Bowfell Mulberry on a buttoned chair, compact sofa or dining seat where its deep berry tone can act as a warm, tailored anchor. Pair it with aged timber, oatmeal upholstery or muted brass to draw out the pale stripe highlights.

Use this weighty mulberry stripe to bring tailored depth to an armchair, sofa or occasional seat.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
