Marldon Tomato
Albeck FabricF3701-12
Marldon Tomato is a tightly woven, small-scale plain with a warm tomato-red cast and a dry, textural surface. The colour reads as softened and earthy rather than bright, with tiny darker flecks giving the cloth extra depth.

About this fabric
This fabric from the Albeck collection by Colefax and Fowler is a 145cm-wide cloth made from 57% viscose, 21% cotton, 12% linen and 10% polyester. With no visible repeat and a zero centimetre vertical and horizontal repeat, it has the calm look of a plain but the image shows a finely speckled weave that keeps the surface lively. The tomato shade is muted by brown and terracotta undertones, so it feels warm and grounded rather than sharp or glossy. That blend of fibres gives the fabric a slightly nubbled, cloth-like handle that suits structured upholstery especially well.
How to use it
Use Marldon Tomato on a sofa, banquette or accent chair where its warm red tone can add richness without overwhelming the room. It pairs neatly with oak, tobacco leather and quiet neutrals, especially in schemes that need colour with a classic, tailored feel.
A warm, tailored red that brings depth to classic seating and cushions.

Pairs well with
Marldon Tomato is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
