Haldon Ebony

Whitworth Fabric FabricCCF0739-03

Haldon Ebony pairs deep ebony bands with softer charcoal stripes in a strongly vertical design. The close-up shows a softly granular surface that gently diffuses the contrast rather than making it look stark.

About this fabric

The alternating black and charcoal stripes create a cool, shadowed colourway with a tailored, architectural mood. Subtle surface variation is visible across both tones, giving the dark ground a little depth as light moves over the weave. At 425gsm, this is a substantial fabric suited to upholstery, while the 138cm usable width offers practical coverage. The stripe has a 9.2cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat, with a standard length of 35m.

How to use it

Use Haldon Ebony on a statement armchair, headboard or sofa where its vertical charcoal-and-black rhythm can add structure without introducing a bright accent. Pair it with smoked wood, blackened metal and soft grey textiles to keep the scheme cool and tonal.

Use the deep ebony and charcoal contrast to give tailored upholstery a quiet, architectural edge.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
