About this fabric

This colourway reads as a deep charcoal rather than a flat black, giving the pattern a softer, more upholstered look in the image. The stylised flowers are picked out in muted reds, mossy greens, and pale linen-toned stems, which sit clearly against the dark background without looking overly bright. Woven in 35% linen, 35% viscose, and 30% cotton, it has the feel of a substantial decorative textile with enough body for either drapery or upholstery use. The repeat is large at approximately V 75cm / H 64cm, so the design makes a confident statement on bigger pieces and across longer curtain lengths. At 127cm wide, it is a practical width for tailored interior work.

How to use it

Use this charcoal ground to anchor a scheme with aged brass, walnut, or painted wood, where the darker background will make the floral colours feel richer. It works especially well in rooms that need a formal, layered look with a slightly moody edge.

A dramatic dark ground that lets the embroidered-style flowers read with extra depth.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Baptista Linen Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
