Ariadne Red/Green

Braganza FabricF4813-02

Ariadne Red/Green combines an airy linen ground with embroidered-looking vertical stripes in red, green, gold and soft pink. The pattern feels rhythmic and decorative, with each trailing stem standing clearly against the pale base.

About this fabric

This fabric is composed of 60% Linen, 33% Viscose and 7% Polyester, with a width of approximately 132cm and a vertical repeat of about 39cm by 44cm. The visible finish has the dry, slightly slubby look of linen, while the pattern brings a richer stitched effect in warm red, olive green, mustard and coral accents. The ground reads as a pale natural cream, which lets the colourway feel bright but not harsh. With no performance features noted and a fabric construction suited to furnishings, it offers enough substance for both drapery and lighter upholstery applications.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want pattern and colour but still need a calm, light ground; it works especially well with oak, painted cream woodwork and muted greens. Its red-and-green palette gives a smart, collected feel in rooms that mix traditional furniture with relaxed linen textures.

Use the lively embroidery-like stripes to add colour without overwhelming a classic room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
