Colefax and Fowler

Belmont Wallcovering Black

Belmont Wallcovering Black sets an intricate chinoiserie scene against a deep charcoal-black ground. Birds, flowering branches and sweeping foliage are picked out in softened blush, ochre, cream, teal and terracotta.

About this wallpaper

The dark ground gives this colourway considerable depth, allowing the pale birds and blossom sprays to catch the eye while the ochre foliage and coral flowers add a warm, aged glow. The design is densely composed, with curving branches, palm-like leaves and multiple birds creating a large-scale decorative panorama rather than a quiet repeat. Supplied as 100% linen, it has a natural textile character alongside its detailed wallcovering design. The approximate repeat measures 320.5cm vertically by 133cm horizontally, making the placement of the full scene an important part of the finished wall.

How to use it

Use it as a statement wall in a library, dining room or bedroom, pairing the charcoal background with aged brass, warm wood, ivory upholstery and small accents of muted coral or teal.

Use this dramatic charcoal ground to frame classic rooms, balancing its ornate chinoiserie imagery with quiet, warm neutrals.
