About this fabric

The near-black surface moves between charcoal and almost pure black as the light travels across it, giving this colourway a particularly deep, luxe appearance. At 540gsm, the fabric has the substantial visual weight expected of a velvet suitable for upholstery. Its 141cm usable width provides a practical surface for covering furniture, while the 0cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeats reflect its plain, non-motif design. The folded swatch shows a close, even pile rather than a printed or woven pattern.

How to use it

Use Black Earth on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat in a room that needs a strong, grounding tone. Its near-black depth works especially well against pale walls, warm timber and brushed metal, where the changing sheen remains visible.

Use the deep near-black pile on tailored upholstery where its directional sheen can add subtle depth.
