About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke Whitworth fabric weighs 425gsm, giving the finely ribbed weave a substantial upholstery character. The close-up shows narrow vertical lines rather than a bold motif, with a subtle 0.4cm horizontal repeat and no vertical pattern repeat. Its indigo tone reads cool and quietly saturated, while the alternating threads add a softly weathered blue-grey dimension. The 138cm usable width and 35m standard length make it practical for coordinated upholstery work.

How to use it

Use Ashdown Indigo on a tailored armchair, sofa or dining seat where its cool depth can anchor warm timber, chalky neutrals and brushed metal. The fine vertical rib brings understated texture without competing with patterned cushions.
