Alaska Navy

Alaska Collection FabricALASKA

Alaska Navy is a deep, even navy plain with a cool, restrained finish and a subtle woven texture visible across the surface. It reads as a quietly smart colourway rather than a bright blue, with enough depth to hold its tone in low light.

About this fabric

From Ashley Wilde's Alaska Collection, this fabric is made from 100% polyester and specified for severe contract upholstery and drapes. The cloth has a smooth, close plain weave that lets the dark navy colour stay consistent across the face of the fabric, with only a soft change in sheen as the light moves over it. At 146cm wide and tested to 45,000 severe contract rubs, it is a practical choice for commercial seating or full-length curtains where a strong, composed colour is needed. Its 300gsm weight gives it a substantial feel without looking bulky, which suits the clean, tailored appearance visible in the swatch.

How to use it

Use Alaska Navy to anchor a scheme with pale oak, chalk white or brushed steel, where its cool depth adds definition without shouting. It also works well in layered schemes with crisp linens and muted greys for a sharp, modern contrast.

A rich navy plain that feels crisp and tailored on upholstery or drapery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
