Effetto Charcoal

Effetto Charcoal combines a deep charcoal-grey ground with irregular pale ivory and softer grey vertical strokes. The layered striation gives the surface a cool, mineral depth that shifts subtly across the swatch.

About this fabric

This 435gsm woven fabric has a substantial visual presence, with charcoal columns broken by distressed grey and chalky ivory marks. The softly irregular vertical pattern repeat is 62cm, while the horizontal repeat is 34cm, giving the design a measured but non-uniform rhythm. With a usable width of 137cm, it is well suited to upholstered seating and other projects where the vertical direction can be used to emphasise form. The standard length is 40m, providing useful scope for coordinated upholstery requirements.

How to use it

Use Effetto Charcoal on a tailored sofa, armchair or headboard where its charcoal depth can anchor a scheme. Pair it with warm ivory, pale stone and brushed metal to pick up the lighter vertical strokes without losing the colourway’s cool, atmospheric character.

A substantial abstract woven with vertical charcoal, grey and ivory striations for tailored upholstery.

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Effetto Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
