Cognate Dijon/Shiitake

Colour 2 Fabrics FabricHAF0449-01

Cognate Dijon/Shiitake combines a softly warm shiitake-beige ground with curved Dijon bands that interlock into a repeating geometric pattern. The low-contrast palette keeps the design composed, while the mustard tone gives the surface gentle warmth.

About this fabric

This 318gsm fabric has a visibly fine, even woven texture beneath the broad, rounded arcs. Dijon-coloured bands overlap and turn across the beige ground, creating a measured trellis-like rhythm rather than a sharply contrasting graphic. The pattern repeats every 44.8cm vertically and 45cm horizontally, giving the motif a clear medium-scale presence. With a usable width of 135.5cm and 34 threads per centimetre, it offers a substantial, closely woven handle suited to both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Use the warm shiitake ground to soften a neutral scheme, then echo the Dijon arcs through ochre, tan or aged-brass accents. Its orderly scale works particularly well on a statement chair, headboard or full-length curtain where the interlocking pattern can be read clearly.

A warm beige ground and muted Dijon arcs bring measured geometric structure to upholstery, curtains and cushions.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cognate Dijon/Shiitake without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
