About this colour

At #425958, Harley Green reads as a dark, muted green with enough grey in it to keep it calm and grounded. It absorbs a good deal of light, so on walls it will feel more enveloping than airy, but it does not turn black or overly heavy. In a north-facing room it can look cooler and more slate-like, with the green pulled back. In south-facing light it warms slightly and the green becomes clearer, though it stays subdued. It sits well beside pale oak, walnut, brass details, and quiet upholstery shades such as stone, tobacco, ink blue, or warm grey.

How to use it

Use it in a study, library, or snug where a darker wall colour helps the room feel settled. It also works well on joinery beside cream-painted woodwork, or with upholstered pieces in linen, velvet, or leather tones that can hold their own against the depth of the colour.

A deep, cool green that gives walls a calm, grounded look.
