Orla Fabrics FabricCCF0631-10

Orla Kingfisher is a deep blue-teal woven fabric with a quiet, finely textured surface. Its saturated colour reads cool and even across the plain construction, while the weave adds subtle depth.

About this fabric

The close-up shows a plain textile with delicate vertical and horizontal fibre movement rather than a printed motif, giving the surface a restrained tactile character. Kingfisher is a cool, rich teal that sits between blue and green, with darker threads lending the colour a softly shaded appearance. At 257 gsm and 138 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight suited to both upholstery and drapery. Both the vertical and horizontal pattern repeats are 0 cm, confirming the absence of a repeating design, and the standard length is 40 m.

How to use it

Use Kingfisher on a reading chair, bench or headboard when the room needs a concentrated blue-green anchor, pairing it with warm timber or pale neutrals to balance its cool depth. Its plain weave also works across full-length curtains where the saturated teal can create a calm, enveloping backdrop.

Use this deep blue teal as a confident colour block on upholstery or as a rich, light-absorbing drapery accent.

Pairs well with

Orla Kingfisher is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
