Orla Licorice

Orla Fabrics FabricCCF0631-11

Orla Licorice is a near-black textile with a softly textured plain weave and barely visible vertical tonal movement. Its deep charcoal shade reads dark and grounded, while the surface catches the light gently rather than appearing flat.

About this fabric

The close weave is predominantly charcoal-black, with fine vertical shifts that add subdued depth across the swatch. At 257 gsm and 138 cm usable width, it is a versatile mid-weight fabric suitable for both upholstery and drapery. The plain surface has a 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, so it presents as a continuous, understated field of colour. A standard length of 40 m is supplied for this fabric, with no performance features noted.

How to use it

Use Orla Licorice on a tailored chair, sofa or full-length curtain where its deep charcoal tone can anchor a room without introducing a visible motif. Pair it with pale timber, warm neutrals or brushed metal to bring out the subtle texture in the black surface.

Use the deep charcoal tone to give upholstery or curtains a crisp, quietly dramatic finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
