Titley & Marr

African Embroidery African Skys Colour1 web

African Embroidery in African Skys Colour 1 sits on a clean ivory ground, scattered with lively stitched-looking lines in blue, coral, yellow, green and pink. The repeating abstract motif feels airy and energetic rather than heavy.

About this fabric

This Titley & Marr fabric from the African Skies collection has no performance features noted in the supplied specification, so it is best judged by its visible finish and pattern. The cloth shows a light ivory base with painterly, embroidery-like strokes in sky blue, red coral, sunny yellow, leaf green and soft pink. The colours are bright but softened by the pale background, giving the design a fresh, hand-drawn feel rather than a dense or formal one. Its overall effect is lively and decorative, with the pattern reading clearly across the surface without looking overly heavy.

How to use it

Use this colourway where you want a room to feel cheerful and relaxed, especially with pale timber, cane or white-painted furniture. It would also lift a plain drape scheme by bringing in colour without needing a dark ground.

Use with plain linens and natural woods to let the lively palette do the work.
