Dancing Steel
Dancing Fabric
Dancing Steel is a softly shaded greige-taupe woven fabric with a fine, irregular surface that creates gentle movement across the swatch. Its cool stone base is lifted by subtly darker threads, giving the colourway quiet depth rather than a flat grey appearance.

About this fabric
The close, tactile weave is made up of tiny uneven ridges and broken vertical movements, visible across the entire surface. Steel reads as a muted greige taupe: cooler than beige, but softened with enough warmth to avoid looking stark or metallic. The low-contrast tonal variation catches the light gently, making the surface feel textured without introducing a bold motif. No composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this fabric.
How to use it
Pair this cool greige-taupe colourway with chalky whites, pale timber and soft charcoal for a restrained contemporary room. Its finely textured surface would also sit comfortably on a tailored chair or sofa where subtle tonal detail is more important than pattern.
Use this softly mottled greige-taupe weave to bring quiet texture to tailored seating and understated neutral schemes.

Pairs well with
Dancing Steel is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
