Savile Charcoal
Savile Fabric
Savile Charcoal is shown here as a near-black charcoal cloth with fine, irregular pale-grey lines breaking across the surface. In the folds, the softly flecked finish catches just enough light to reveal its depth without becoming glossy.

About this fabric
The photographed swatch has a deep charcoal ground, reading close to black in the shaded folds, with narrow pale-grey lines following broken vertical paths. Its surface appears matte and subtly flecked, while the gathered cloth forms broad, soft folds with a substantial-looking body. The sparse linear motif keeps the dark ground as the dominant feature, giving the colourway a quiet, tailored character. No composition, width, rub-test or performance figures have been supplied for this colourway.
How to use it
Use the deep charcoal tone on a structured armchair, sofa or headboard where its near-black depth can anchor a room. Keep surrounding finishes lighter or introduce warm timber to make the pale broken lines and softly textured surface more visible.
The near-black charcoal tone suits tailored upholstery, with pale broken lines adding subtle movement without overwhelming the room.
Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Savile Charcoal without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
