About this fabric

The closely textured pile creates a smooth, velvet-like appearance, while the folds reveal lighter graphite tones against the darkest charcoal areas. Its near-black depth gives the colour a dramatic, tailored presence without introducing a visible motif or pattern. Directional light travels across the raised folds, bringing out a restrained sheen and the fabric’s soft-looking handle. The plain surface keeps the focus on tone, texture and sculptural upholstery form.

How to use it

Use Schino Shadow on a statement sofa, armchair or headboard in a contemporary room, pairing its cool charcoal depth with pale stone, smoked glass and brushed metal. Layer it with lighter grey textiles to emphasise the pile’s subtle tonal shifts.

Use this deep charcoal shade on upholstered seating where its directional pile can add depth and subtle sheen.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
