Schino Fabric

Schino Rouge is shown here as a deep wine-red textile with a plush, close surface and a gentle sheen across its gathered folds. The rich burgundy tone shifts from softly lit red to deep merlot in the creases.

About this fabric

The dense, velvety-looking surface catches light along each ridge, while the recessed folds appear almost plum-brown, giving this colourway notable depth. Its close, even texture reads as a plain fabric rather than a patterned design, with the movement coming from the nap and drape of the cloth. No performance features are noted for this fabric, so the image-led appeal is its saturated wine tone and softly lustrous handle. The substantial appearance makes it best suited to upholstery, particularly where curved or gathered forms can show the way the surface reflects light.

How to use it

Pair Schino Rouge with warm walnut, dark timber or aged brass for a cocooning, grown-up scheme. Its muted wine-red tone also works against chalky neutrals, where the plush surface becomes the room’s richest accent.

Use this deep wine-red cloth to bring plush depth and a softly dramatic finish to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
