Fiji Slate

Tahiti Collection FabricFIJI

Fiji Slate has a deep slate ground that makes the tropical birds, palms and butterflies feel sharp and vivid. The overall effect is moody and dramatic, with the lighter foliage and flashes of colour standing out against the dark base.

About this fabric

Printed on 100% polyester, Fiji Slate is a durable fabric with a 25,000 rub test, making it suitable for general domestic upholstery and drapes. The 135cm width and 390gsm weight support a substantial handle, while the 94cm vertical repeat and 68cm horizontal repeat suit the large-scale placement of the motif. Visually, the slate background reads as a cool, smoky grey rather than a true black, which gives the birds and botanical forms a crisp, layered appearance. The design’s mix of muted leaves and jewel-like butterfly accents creates a luxurious tropical look without feeling overly bright.

How to use it

This slate colourway works well on an occasional chair, sofa cushions or curtains in a scheme with natural timber, matte black details and soft green accents. The cool grey ground keeps the print grounded, so it can sit comfortably in a layered, contemporary room.

Use as a statement on accent chairs or cushions where the slate ground can show off the lively tropical birds and botanicals.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
