Botanist Ebony

Tahiti Collection FabricBOTANIST

Botanist Ebony has a striking black ground lifted by an ivory botanical and bird motif. The monochrome palette gives the design a crisp, dramatic look with clear contrast and plenty of depth.

About this fabric

Woven in 100% polyester, this fabric is specified for general domestic upholstery and drapes, making it a practical decorative cloth as well as a strong statement print. The generous 134cm width and 25,000 rub test support everyday use, while the 523 grams per linear metre weight gives the cloth a substantial, grounded handle. Visually, the ebony base feels deep and saturated, allowing the pale botanical drawing, hanging florals and curved bird forms to stand out with an almost etched quality. The result is a lush but disciplined monochrome that reads more refined than bright, with the pattern’s large 40.5cm by 69cm repeat reinforcing its expansive, ornamental feel.

How to use it

Use Botanist Ebony on a tailored armchair, dining chairs or a window seat where the black ground can sharpen the room’s edges. It also works well as drapes in a light-filled scheme, where the ivory pattern will read clearly against the dark base.

Use for statement upholstery or curtains to bring a dramatic monochrome finish.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
