About this fabric

This Wemyss fabric reads as a muted charcoal taupe rather than a flat grey, giving the colourway a warm, grounded depth. Its narrow vertical markings vary subtly in width and direction, producing an organic strié effect across the cloth. The lightly raised, irregular weave adds tactile interest without introducing a separate motif or strong contrast. The directional texture would give upholstered forms a softly tailored, elongated appearance.

How to use it

Use 16 Feather on a compact sofa, dining chair or headboard where its deep taupe-grey tone can anchor softer neutrals. Pair it with chalky stone, warm timber and brushed metal to bring out the subtle light-and-dark movement in the striation.

Its deep taupe-grey tone and directional striation suit tailored upholstery and quietly layered interiors.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
