About this fabric

The visible design is formed from irregular horizontal striations, with darker charcoal bands cutting through softer silver-grey and near-white threads. Its substantial-looking, densely textured surface gives the colourway a smart, architectural character rather than a flat monochrome appearance. The cool grey palette works especially well where the changing light can pick out the variation between the fine lines and heavier dark strokes. No performance features are noted for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Penthouse Mercury on a clean-lined sofa, headboard or occasional chair, pairing its cool charcoal-and-silver tones with blackened metal, pale timber and understated stone finishes.

Use this cool, striated grey on tailored upholstery where its layered texture can be appreciated.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
