Nell Taupe

Nell Taupe is a warm, softly shaded taupe-brown fabric with a restrained, even appearance. Its surface is enlivened by fine horizontal striations that create subtle depth without introducing a visible motif.

About this fabric

The swatch shows closely set horizontal lines in layered taupe and brown tones, giving the colourway a calm, grounded character. Its muted warmth avoids the flatness of a plain brown, while the delicate tonal variation catches the light across the surface. The fine, compact texture reads as tailored and versatile for either upholstery or drapery. No composition, width or rub-test specification is supplied for this listing.

How to use it

Use Nell Taupe where a warm, understated neutral is needed: it will sit comfortably against natural wood, oatmeal linen and deeper brown accents while retaining its softly striated texture.

Pair the warm taupe tone with timber, linen and softly contrasting neutral upholstery or curtains.

Pairs well with

Nell Taupe is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
